We just had our first Compass Community Bed Build!!  To say that we are excited, overjoyed, grateful… just in ALL the feels would be an understatement.  We are just in complete awe as we share how God has put this all together!

In Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus tells us, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Well, Jesus has made a way for us to show children that have burdens most of us can’t even imagine a path to His perfect REST through the making and giving of beds to kids and families in need!!  This is life changing for these kiddos, their families and us!

Now we get to share the way HE put this all together…lifetimes in the making!  Over 45 years ago, Jesus gave a very broken child a bedroom and true REST in HIM through two loving people who chose to share their time, talents and love for Christ.  

A few years ago, a building was purchased with no particular purpose in mind. Many years ago, a desire to serve college students was stirred in several hearts.  Out of that stirring came Compass, which led to Compass Community.  We started praying and asking God to provide ways for Compass students, and families to be able serve HIS Kingdom in this community. He brought an opportunity to provide for community needs and make connections through the Care Portal App that connects us directly with the needs of kids in the DCS and foster care system.  Then, He opened three specific doors for us within two days as He was closing the doors of a bed ministry started by a faithful servant, John Key, during the pandemic.  

He has brought us connections to provide materials to build beds, bedding for every kid to have and funding as we have needed it grow this ministry.  Now that building that was purchased several years ago with no particular purpose in mind, is fulfilling HIS purpose.  We are able to make beds (sometimes with the recipients themselves) and love on these families!  

God is so good and it’s just such a blessing to watch how He leads and provides!! We can't wait to have you join us for a Bed Build and see how something we take for granted is a massive blessing to many in our community.
