What a Year!!

Celebrating what God has done in 2025!

What a year it has been at Compass! We witnessed lives transformed (including 7 baptisms!), partnerships strengthened, generosity extended, and meaningful relationships established. God has led us to growth in all four areas that we set out to focus on: Community, Family, College-aged students, and Worship.

As we close out 2025, we wanted to share just a snapshot of how your faithful prayers and financial support have helped advance His Kingdom through the work of Compass!

COMMUNITY

COMMUNITY

Compass Community is always looking for opportunities to partner with and point people to serving and helping local non-profits, churches, and organizations achieve their God given purposes, and man did God provide us some opportunities this year!

We were grateful for the opportunity to partner with Reclaiming Eros and Kelly Moses to bring the Brain, Heart and World presentation to more than 100 students on the IWU campus, highlighting the dangers and far-reaching effects of pornography on our brains, our hearts, and our world.

We partnered with Sweetser Wesleyan Church to help provide school supplies for elementary students in the community as they prepared to return to school. In addition, we collected and donated items to Hands of Hope, a nonprofit serving individuals impacted by domestic violence as well as the CarePortal, that helps meet tangible needs for children involved in the foster care and DHS systems.

Finally, we developed a partnership with Seth and Joy Elzinga and Royal Family Kids, working together to provide camps and mentorship for children in the foster care system. We are especially excited to be part of the first Royal Family Kids Camp in the summer of 2026

In addition to all of this, and in an effort to make sure we are focused more on what goes on in our world throughout the week than just on a Sunday morning we launched a new Compass App and Website, making it easier for people to stay connected with ways they can serve, needs they can help meet, as well as share and respond to prayer request and access our weekly and monthly podcasts (Beyond the Building, Compass Community Conversations).

Our Beyond the Building podcast experienced a 46% increase in listeners this year! Hosted weekly by Ian Brookshire, the podcast invites listeners into meaningful conversations as individuals share their takeaways from Compass Worship teaching - extending discipleship far beyond Sunday mornings.

COLLEGE-AGED MINISTRY (CAM)

COLLEGE-AGED MINISTRY (CAM)

Throughout the year, CAM hosted 9 college athletic teams for retreats and team banquets, creating space for fellowship, discipleship, and spiritual growth. One of our purposes in hosting these events is to serve the coaches who pour into their athletes every day. So your generosity allows us to provide a space, technology and a meal for free so coaches can simply celebrate their athletes.

We hosted two Indiana Wesleyan University FCA worship nights, where more than 100 student athletes gathered to remember who it is they ultimately play for and where their true identity and value is found.

This past summer Compass was once again honored to partner with Compete Training Academy to provide spiritual discipleship for Camp Better, a one-week intensive experience designed for 11 college basketball players to grow both in their game and in their faith.

In addition, CAM hosted four Unity Nights Worship gatherings, bringing together over 300 college students for worship, discipleship, and biblical teaching. We are currently working alongside Unity Nights Worship to develop a partnership that will help them carry forward the vision God has given them - to bring worship nights to more communities and campuses to grow His Kingdom

We launched our fall semester with a Welcome Back BBQ. This was a day filled with worship, food, and plenty of fellowship! There were nearly 300 people who joined us for worship and stayed for mini golf, pickleball, sand volleyball and so much more helping people to begin establishing meaningful relationships.

Speaking of meaningful relationships, we launched a mentor program this year, and we had over 20 adults agree to mentor college students throughout the year. Our prayer is that through these relationships no college student will ever feel like they are alone, and that they will always know there is someone in there corner even when they are far from home.

FAMILY

FAMILY

We hosted our 3rd Annual Compass Girls Conference, welcoming 70 high school girls from 11 different schools for a day centered on the truth that God has a seat at His table just for them. We were blessed by the involvement of more than 20 college-aged and adult women who volunteered to mentor, pray, write encouraging notes, and serve throughout the day - creating a powerful picture of discipleship across generations.

We continued offering premarital sessions and were blessed with the opportunity to walk alongside four couples using our newly developed (and still evolving) curriculum, Established. Through these sessions, couples explore God’s design for marriage and learn how to build their relationships within His framework—creating marriages that are strong, resilient, and reflective of God’s love for mankind.

WORSHIP

WORSHIP

While we may not have envisioned Compass Worship as a Sunday morning gathering, God has certainly made it clear that this was the path He envisioned for us. Each Sunday we gather around tables, share breakfast, worship and receive a biblical teaching together. Then we spend as much time as needed in "table talk," sharing with those around our table what God taught us through His word. God has continued to bring students and adults to us each morning as we have averaged 225 weekly! This year we created more opportunities for people to serve in areas of hospitality, food service and clean up and tear down and have been overwhelmed by the willingness of so many giving us beautiful picture of lives being shaped through service and community.

We were blessed this year to have 3 college students serve in teaching roles at Compass Worship, while more than 60 different students participated on our Sunday morning worship teams. Our hope is that these numbers continue to grow as students see Compass Worship as a place they can learn and grow in teaching and worship through the mentoring and guidance of our leadership.

MOVING INTO 2026

None of this would be possible without your faithful prayers, generosity, and belief in the mission of Compass. You are an essential part of every life touched, every partnership formed, and every step of faith taken this year.

As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with great expectations, trusting God to continue leading us into deeper discipleship, broader impact, and greater opportunities to reflect His love in our community and beyond.

We humbled by your continued prayerful and financial support as together we strive reach more lives, strengthen more families, and advance His Kingdom in even greater ways.
